The massive Atlantic Yards megaproject, now called Pacific Park, got a little prettier this weekend, as 10 local artists painted 820 feet of murals along Dean Street between Vanderbilt and Carlton avenues. Mike Perry, the artist behind the introduction to the TV show Broad City, picked the painters, and the abstract artworks bring a lot of color to the construction site. Field Condition captured the artists at work on Saturday, and the development team shared photos of the final products.
Each piece measures 40 feet long, and they were all completed in one day. The artists are Hisham Akira Bharoocha, Morgan Blair, Josh Cochran, Thomas Colligan, Archie Lee Coates, Jennifer Maravillas, Eddie Perrote, Naomi Reis, Edward Ubiera, and Perry himself.
