Bed-Stuy, Fort Greene Are Home to Brooklyn's Greenest Blocks

New, 3 comments

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden has bestowed honors on the community gardeners and expert green thumbs in its annual Greenest Block contest for more than two decades, and this year, the prizes go to Bed-Stuy and Fort Greene. Bainbridge Street (↑) between Malcolm X Boulevard and Stuyvesant Avenue nabbed the top spot for a residential block, while Fulton Street between South Portland Avenue and South Oxford Street is the borough's loveliest commercial block. Honors for the greenest store front, best community garden streetscape, and best street beds went to Park Slope, Downtown Brooklyn, and East Flatbush.
