A sprawling Midtown penthouse with stellar Manhattan views just hit the market for $45 million (welcome to the club). It's owned by fashion's Alessandra and Allegra Gucci, and the 9,500-square-foot penthouse, located on Fifth Avenue in the Olympic Tower, has a Gucci-meets-midcentury-modern-meets-1980s-disco-club thing going on. The decor in the main living area consists of a lot of shiny surfaces and pops of neon, but there's also a lovely wood-paneled library, with a "majestic wood burning fireplace" and limestone inset. There are eight bedrooms, none of which are pictured, and eight bathrooms, one of which lays claim to what is possibly the shower with the best views in the city.
The duplex was originally two units that the sisters' father, Maurizio Gucci, combined, and according to the Journal, they are selling because they spend most of their time in Europe. Currently, some very rich person is renting the apartment; in 2010, it was on the rental market for $55,000/month.
