A Williamsburg project that was first revealed back in March now has a new set of renderings by way of New York YIMBY, as well as a name that's as, er, bespoke as the structure itself: The Ewen (which may or may not be an acronym starting with eastern Williamsburg. Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments.) The project at 245 Manhattan Avenue near Grand Street is the work of developer East River Partners and architect Mortar, who's designed a building clad in a very artisanal charred wood and steel facade, as per the architect's website. The building will replace a one-story brick warehouse surrounded by standard-issue old Williamsburg vinyl-sided buildings, of course.
