The affordable housing lottery for 223 North 8th Street has opened, bringing 19 subsidized rentals to primo Williamsburg territory on North 8th Street between Roebling and Driggs, Brick Underground reports. Here's how the lottery breaks down: six studios asking $833/month will be available to individuals earning $29,932 to $36,300 a year; 10 one-bedrooms asking $895/month will be available to individuals earning $32,092 to $36,300 a year or couples earning $32,092 to $41,460 a year; and three two-bedrooms asking $1,082/month will be available to couples earning $38,538 to $41,460 a year, a family of three earning $38,538 to $46,620 a year, or a family of four earning $38,538 to $51,780 a year. Applications are open through October 9th and are available through NYC's Housing Connect website.
The seven story building has 75 apartments in total and will offer amenities like bike storage, car parking, a gym, a tenant recreation space including a terrace, and a credit card-operated laundry room. A few apartments also have private outdoor space. The building's market rate rentals have yet to hit the market.
