The townhouse-ification of Brooklyn continues with the launch the King & Sullivan complex in Red Hook. Much like the "suburban" houses that went on the market in Boerum Hill earlier this month, the 22 townhouses that make up this new development feature driveways and private outdoor space. Design firm AA Studio (which is also responsible for the larger development at 160 Imlay Street just a few blocks away) created five different facades for the four-bedroom homes, each of which is inspired by an architectural feature found throughout Brooklyn—brick, terra cotta, and corten steel (the material used on the Barclays Center) are just some of the options. Two of the homes launched sales through Douglas Elliman today, with prices starting at $2.65 million—which is slightly higher than the median for the neighborhood, but that will surely change once fancy new developments come to the waterfront.
