Morris Adjmi's Newest Project Brings 53 Condos to Flatiron

New, 13 comments

Morris Adjmi has a lot to celebrate today, because not one, but two of the architect's buildings launched sales. After this morning's excitement surrounding the sales launch at 465 Pacific Street, the Toll Brothers City Living development at 55 West 17th Streetƒalso designed by Adjmi—has followed suit. Current availability in the 53-apartment building starts at $1.59 million for a 1BR. Prices in the building will rise as larger apartments come to market; currently, listings top out at $3.22 million for a two-bedroom. The building's crowned jewel—its duplex penthouse with a private terrace and outdoor swimming pool—will probably top the list with an ask upwards of $15 million.

The condos have finishes that match the building's prices: kitchens will have Bianco Oro marble countertops and backsplashes, wine refrigerators, and Gaggenau appliances; master bathrooms will comes decked in all sorts of exotic marble, like Bianco Dolomoti and Bianco Carrera; secondary bathrooms will have Moroccan Zellige tile walls (and their fare share of marble, too.) All apartments will have wide oak plank flooring, and access to the building's fitness center, kids playroom, double-height lounge, screening room, and landscaped terrace with grills. The building will also have a full-time doorman and concierge and bike storage.

The building's facade, comprised of handmade Danish brick, apparently took cues from the architecture of the nearby historic Ladies Mile, according to the listings' brokerbabble.
