Half of a Walker Tower Combo Pad Reappears For $30M

New, 15 comments

Normally, a $30 million apartment isn't the sort of thing we'd call affordable—but when you're talking about an apartment in Walker Tower, home to some of downtown's most expensive real estate, $30 million starts to seem, well, relatively affordable. And this particular unit, 18A, has had quite the saga: It's one of the units that had previously been listed as part of a combo apartment, to the tune of a staggering $60 million. (The other one, 18C, is currently in contract.) And now, it's even cheaper than it was when it was first listed on its own in August: It just got a $4 million chop, from $34 million to (precisely) $29.992 million, a difference of nearly 12 percent. (It's also apparently available to rent for $75,000 per month. Real estate, how does it work?) For all that cash, you get two south-facing terraces, marble bathrooms (one with a freestanding tub), and plenty of space. And hey, it's almost a bargain now, sort of.
