Palatial Tribeca Penthouse With Rooftop Pool Asks $30M

New, 11 comments

The sprawling penthouse of 471 Washington Street, measuring 7,137 feet on the inside with 4,393 square feet of exterior space, is now on the market for $29.95 million. The palatial penthouse belongs to hedge funder Harsh Padia who picked it up for $17 million—$2 million over ask—in 2011. The apartment's since been combined which, along with the interior design work of Purvi Padia, sort of explains the major price jump. The penthouse comes with many an amenity, but perhaps chief among them is the (sadly unpictured) rooftop pool.

Padia purchased a one-story factory on the corner of Havemeyer Street and North 6th Street in Williamsburg last November with plans to build a single-family mansion, but new permits approved for the site on August 11 suggest that that's a dream deferred. According to the permits filed by Design Studio Associates, the site will instead give rise to a three-story apartment building split between five dwellings, including a duplex penthouse (that just might be fit for its developer.)
