Sales at 100 East 53rd Street, the luxe Midtown condos rising behind the Seagram Building, launched last week from $3.35 million, bringing seven of the building's 99 condos to market. Not included in that bunch is the duplex penthouse that will crown the Norman Foster-designed tower, which the Wall Street Journal just revealed will ask a whopping $65 million. The penthouse will occupy floors 60 and 61, and cover 6,760 square feet. The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom penthouse will also have a 44-foot-long great room with 23-foot ceilings intended to be used as an area to display large artworks (The project is developed by art collector extraordinaire Aby Rosen's RFR Realty, after all, with Hines and China Vanke.)
The penthouse pricing reveal comes with a new rendering of the project, the first dedicated look inside of the penthouse. The duplex's floorplan was revealed back in November when friends and family sales launched at the faceted tower. The floorplan's reveal synched up with the launch of the building's full website, which brought with it new renderings of the William T. Georgis-designed interiors.
