Björk Nabs Brooklyn Heights Penthouse From Her Ex for $1.6M

New, 7 comments

In 2009, Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk and her now ex-husband, artist Matthew Barney, snagged the penthouse apartment at 160 Henry Street on a quiet stretch in Brooklyn Heights. But the couple has since split up, and now Luxury Listings NYC reports that the delightfully kooky musician has bought her ex out of the 3,000-square-foot pad, to the tune of $1,611,325. (h/t Brownstoner)

At the time of the original sale, the couple paid about $4 million for the penthouse, a four-bedroom pad in the Brooklyn Heights co-op. They split in 2013, and Barney bought a wood-frame townhouse in Fort Greene not too long after. Though, alas, there are no interior images of the former couple's penthouse, an old Brownstoner post does have a floorplan, which gives an idea of what the layout would be. (But oh, what we wouldn't give to see the interiors.)
