Time-Lapse Video Lets You Ride the Entire 7 Line In 5 Minutes

New, 6 comments

There's a whole subculture of people who are obsessed with roller-coaster POV videos—i.e., videos taken from the front of a twisty coaster, giving the illusion of riding one without actually, you know, being there. Consider this video, by prolific YouTuber DJ Hammer, the New York City version of that: He shot a time-lapse of a rush-hour ride on the 7 train from the new Hudson Yards station to Main Street in Queens, and the resulting four-minute video is, as Gothamist notes, "surprisingly idyllic." Who knows what was happening in the cars behind him, but this POV quite lovely—and, unlike those coaster videos, not at all vertigo-inducing.
