One of Lightstone's Gowanus-Fronting Buildings Nearly Done

New, 14 comments

One of the two buildings at Lightstone's massive apartment complex in Gowanus is nearly complete as is a part of the planned waterfront esplanade at the development, Pardon Me For Asking reports. 365 Bond Street has topped out, and is expected to be ready for occupancy in a few months time. The esplanade adjacent to the building, overlooking the Gowanus Canal has now been fitted with grass, benches, and lights.

The development will bring a total of 700 apartments to the neighborhood. Work is still underway on the second residential building at 363 Bond Street. In September, Lighstone sold the building to Atlantic Realty Development for $75 million, who will now work towards completing that building.

The development has a plethora of amenities on offer including a fitness center, a yoga and spin room, private dining with a gourmet chef's kitchen, and rooftop terraces with barbecues and cabanas.

The apartments come fitted with white oak hardwood floors and quartz countertops in the kitchen.

Can all this luxury mask the fact that this development is located next to one of the most polluted river bodies in the country and a designated Superfund site? The developers surely seem to think so because what do you know, the waterfront esplanade will also have a boat launch. We'll just have to wait and see and whether the residents decide to brave the trip.
