New Mott Haven Development Will Have 293 Apartments, Hotel

New, 7 comments

Renderings have been unveiled for a large-scale residential and hotel project that is set to rise in Mott Haven in the South Bronx, NY YIMBY reports. Monadnock Construction has partnered with Signature Urban Properties LLC to bring close to 300 residential units and a Hampton Inn to a former industrial lot facing the Harlem River and adjacent to the 145th Street bridge that connects the Bronx to Harlem.

Both planned residential buildings will be affordable rentals. The first of the two is located at 530 Exterior Street. Standing 13-stories tall, the building will have 157 apartments with each apartment having 910 square feet of space on average. The second residential building will be located at 491 Gerard Avenue and have 136 apartments spread out over 12 floors. The apartments will be available to low, moderate, and middle-income households.

The Hampton Inn at the development will be located at 110 East 149th Street. It will have 152 rooms spread out over 10 floors, though the ground floor will be retail, and the building will have a rooftop lounge as well.

Dattner Architects are working on the designs for all three buildings.

This development is yet another addition to the real estate boom currently underway in the South Bronx. There are plans for the construction of six 25-story residential towers nearby, and another 13-story residential project is being built at 477 Gerard Avenue.
