Williamsburg’s Austin Nichols House continues to try to woo buyers with its far-reaching slate of amenities, and has just revealed new images of the spaces. A New York Times profile of the project back in April revealed that in addition to multiple fire pits, the Morris Admji-designed converted warehouse would be equipped with a “jam room.” Ah, Williamsburg: a playground for adults.
While the residences themselves are still under construction, the “robust package” of swanky amenity spaces that were revealed today are truly something.
Among the features of this “360 degree recreational experience”: a catering kitchen, a waterfront fitness center designed for “serious workouts” (on-site SoulCycle is available), coworking spaces, the legendary jam rooms (plural), a movie theater, a café, and a children’s playroom. That’s not to mention the striking jungle of a lobby, which boasts hand-painted cement columns, 3D dune walnut tiling, and a “lush green living wall” complete with 25 species of plants.
Once a warehouse, 184 Kent Avenue was converted into 338 rental units in 2010; now, it’s being converted again, this time into 250 upscale condos. The first batch of units hit the market in May, and current tenants were given a 90-day “right to purchase” offer for condos at a discounted price. At the very least, they’ll get to enjoy the plant wall before they go.
