Heidi Klum prepped for her Halloween rager in this $16M Soho penthouse

The sleek Manhattan apartment is also available as an überpricey short-term rental

Ah, Halloween. It’s many things, including an excuse for stars to prove, once again, that they really aren’t like the rest of us. Case in point: supermodel Heidi Klum throws an elaborate Halloween party every year, for which celebrities dress to the nines and generally do celebrity-ish things, like take selfies and … hang out? We’re not really sure. This year, Klum’s costume was fairly simple: she dressed as herself, and had five other women dress as her clones.

At this point you may be wondering: Why does Curbed care? Well, according to a spokesperson, the behind-the-scenes shots that Klum posted to her Instagram were taken in the duplex penthouse at 94 Thompson Street, where the Project Runway host stayed for the duration of the holiday. (It was a sponsored stunt with Booking.com, because of course it was.)

That particular apartment has been on the market for a few years now, first appearing five years ago and asking $16 million. It’s had a bumpy ride since then—price chopped to $11 million, sold for about $10 million, re-listed asking nearly $20 million, and then cut again to its current $15.95 million asking price. It’s also listed on Booking.com as a short-term rental (because of course it is) for $20,000 per night.

Are you seeing double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, sextuple?! #Ready #HeidiHalloween courtesy of @bookingcom

Presumably, the supermodel’s imprimatur could help move this place, but maybe not. The Tribeca penthouse that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West called home for a month this summer is still available, and even got a price cut recently, so the jury’s out on whether these sorts of PR stunts are actually effective.
