Cozy Upper East Side studio with surprising amount of storage wants $439,000

The lack of space is almost excused because of all those closets

Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.

Aside from the whole living-in-a-confined-space thing, one of the major problems with most studio apartments in New York is the utter lack of closet space—if you have one at all, it’s likely to be tiny and unusable.

That’s not the case with this Upper East Side studio (billed as a junior one-bedroom), which has not one, not two, but four closets, according to the floorplan. There’s also a built-in bookcase separating the common area from the “sleeping area,” for an additional bit of storage (and, blessedly, a reason to bring less furniture into the space).

Aside from all that storage space, the apartment comes with custom cabinetry in the kitchen, a revamped bathroom, and easy access to the soon-to-arrive (maybe) Second Avenue subway line. The asking price is $439,000, but maintenance is $1,133/month.
