Quirky Carroll Gardens duplex seeks $3,850/month

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and tons of unusual details

With exposed brick, weathered wooden beams, wood-paneled ceilings, and an abundance of odd angles, there’s no denying this unusual 900-square-foot duplex has tons of character, as its listing claims. The apartment is now on the market as a $3,850/month rental.

The apartment’s first floor features a double-height living room, soaring ceilings, and built-in bookshelves that are accessible by a charming, rustic ladder; an open pass-through kitchen equipped with a laundry list of amenities including granite countertops and stainless steel everything; a separate, sunken dining area; and one of the apartment’s two full bathrooms.

The lofted second floor, meanwhile, houses the apartment’s two queen-sized bedrooms. Privacy isn’t necessarily this place’s number one selling point—the main bedroom overlooks the living area, while the second bedroom is totally open to the first floor. The layout isn’t all bad, though: the master has an en-suite bath with a soaking tub that goes unpictured, and, as evidenced by the current staging, the second bedroom makes a rather spacious office.

Located in The Mill, a warehouse condo conversion, the apartment comes with a host of shared perks, including an elevator, central air conditioning, a common courtyard garden, on-site parking, and two laundry rooms per floor. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis.
