Waterfront Queens mansion with basement batting cage wants $4.29M

New, 4 comments

There are seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, and plenty of perks

Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!

"Behold The Grandest Home In Queens!" brags the enthusiastic brokerbabble for this Douglaston palace. The listing otherwise scant on details, but based on the photos, the seven-bedroom, six-bath abode appears to be rather grand indeed. After all, it is the work of "an award-winning builder," though which award-winning builder in particular is not specified.

Among the enormous home’s many features: a stunning foyer; a Downton-esque dining room; a studious oak library; a museum-quality hallway with arches and pillars; a spacious eat-in kitchen with an island; a sprawling master suite; and an embarrassment of living areas. None of the bathrooms are pictured, but we are told there are six of them.

No description of this $4.29 million home would be complete without mention of the basement, which includes a full gymnasium "equipped with a baseball batting cage." For the right buyer, this could be an athletic dream come true.
