‘American Idol’ star Clay Aiken scouts Financial District apartment

The singer turned political activist may soon be moving to lower Manhattan

A lot has changed for singer Clay Aiken since winning the hearts of millions who watched the popular hit reality show American Idol back in 2003. Since then, Aiken has enjoyed a successful music career before switching gears and joining the world of politics and activism. We’re not sure what he’s up to now, but the New York Post reports that Aiken has been house-hunting in the Financial District.

One of the spots under consideration for the singer turned politician is a $2.195 million two-bedroom loft at 67 Liberty Street. The space is expansive, stretching across 1,549 square feet and offering a lovely oversized arching window in its living room along with two marble-draped bathrooms and an open chef’s kitchen with custom cabinetry.

The condo isn’t overly detailed or outstanding in any particular way but there is potential to bring character into the subdued apartment, if Aiken decides to roll with it. Other amenities include a private keyed elevator and access to the building’s rooftop terrace.
