Journal Squared will ultimately bring over 1,800 apartments to the area

In just a few months from now, leasing will get underway at Kushner Real Estate Group’s (helmed by Jared Kushner's cousin, Jonathan Kushner) massive Journal Squared development, which will ultimately bring a total of 1,838 apartments to the area. In anticipation of that launch, developers have now unveiled a new website for the project, which reveals a few new interior renderings for the development and offers up a video highlighting the vitality of the area.

Developed in collaboration with National Real Estate Advisors, this project comprises of three rental towers. The first of those buildings topped out at 53-stories last December, and by this summer construction was wrapping up on what will be the shortest of the three rental towers. The other two will stand 60 and 70-stories respectively. Journal Squared is being designed in collaboration between Handel Architects and HWKN with interiors by Christopher Stevens.

Amenities for this first rental tower will be located on the 8th floor and include a fitness center, a yoga room, an outdoor pool, a sundeck, a library, and a screening room. But it doesn’t end there. The top floor has a projector screen, a communal dining table, and boasts views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

Kushner Companies (different from KRE, and headed by Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner) is also developing two large projects at Journal Square—30 Journal Square, a 72-story behemoth with 741 apartments that's being designed by Morris Adjmi, and One Journal Square, which will bring a 56-and-79-story towers to the neighborhood. Together they will have 1,725 apartments. The Journal Squared Rental however will be the first to the finish line.
