Greenpoint’s 40-story waterfront tower is halfway there

Once complete, the building will offer a mix of rental and condo apartments

Field Condition

The 400-foot residential tower that will soon populate Greenpoint’s waterfront is quickly taking shape. After revealing its rendering in October, a new set of photos from construction site photographer Field Condition, shows that the forthcoming “affordable luxury” building has already got a decent amount of height under its belt. It might even be safe to say that the building is at least half of its full height.

The 40-story condo and rental building, located on West Street between India and Heron streets, is being developed by Mack Real Estate Group and Palin Enterprises with Urban Development Partners and will offer both rental and condo units once its completed. The first 27 floors will be comprised of 287 rentals while floors 28 to 40 will house a mix of 95 studios through three-bedroom condos. A smaller five-story building on West Street will offer an additional 81 apartments.

Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects, The Greenpoint, as it’s formally known, will have a courtyard, parking garage and nearly 30,000 square feet of other luxury amenities, though it’s unclear just what that will bring.

The project is hoping to launch in early 2017. Once it’s complete, it should look something like this:
