Details on the supertall are still mostly under wraps

The soon to be tallest residential tower in the world has made significant progress since we last checked in with the development this past April. At that time, Central Park Tower was a few floors above ground, and now new photos by NYConstructionPhoto have revealed that the future 1,550-foot tower has made significant progress.

Details on this extell-developed supertall are still mostly under wraps but we got some of the first close up renderings of the tower in June this year. And a couple of months after that it was revealed that sales on the condos in the building were expected to get underway by year’s end, but it doesn’t seem like that will hold true.

From what we do know of the development, the massive Nordstrom store will occupy the first seven floors of this tower and be spread out over some other properties as well. The tower is being designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the same firm behind some of the world’s tallest buildings including the currently under-construction tallest tower in the world, Jeddah Tower.

Work on 225 West 57th Street is supposed to wrap up in 2019.
