Our semi-regular feature, Monday Mansion, examines the most interesting mega homes on the market in the far reaches of New York. Have a listing in mind that we're missing? Tell us about it. To the outer boroughs we go!
The brokerbabble for this Queens Colonial touts it as "luxury country living," and indeed, the home—a six-bedroom, 4,600-square-foot abode that was gut-renovated not too long ago—has some rather lovely details. The living room has been kitted out to look like a rustic retreat, with a brick fireplace and wooden beams across the ceiling; the theme continues in the kitchen, which is similarly homey (if not a little bit too in love with brick). But the house's exterior is where the magic truly is: There's approximately 12,000 square feet of outdoor space, including a huge backyard, a deck, and a wraparound porch. (Talk about bucolic.) The home first appeared on the market last summer for $2.7 million, but has since been chopped to $2.45 million.
