Just over a year ago, the maisonette at 2 East 70th Street (which has its own address of 888 Fifth Avenue) hit the market for a whopping $35 million—a lot of money for a four-bedroom home, sure, but this one has the added bonus of an extremely ritzy location. But it seems like the address alone wasn't enough to sway buyers: The maisonette, located in a Rosario Candela-designed co-op, was delisted sometime last year, and just reappeared on the market with a slightly reduced price of $29 million. The details remain unchanged: There's still a private marble lobby (and a private entrance on Fifth Avenue), a 30-foot entrance gallery, a wood-paneled library, and a "well-appointed gym." Maybe that $6 million price cut will be the trick in actually moving this place.
