This Bushwick Building Will Transform From Garage to Event Space

New, 4 comments

An inventive, new, building in Bushwick will see it's ground floor parking turned into an event space after hours, Brownstoner reports. The planned multi-purpose building will also have a restaurant or retail space below ground, and offices above, and parallel to the parking space.
Developer Astral Weeks purchased this site, which is currently a traditional parking lot, in 2013 for $650,000 according to Brownstoner. They've brought on VAMOS Architects to carry out the design on the project.

According to the plan, the below ground level will feature a restaurant or retail unit with about 2,822 square feet of space. Above that will be a triple height parking space that turns into an event location at night, and parallel to it on the second and third floors are office spaces. Part of the third floor, and the top floor will feature a duplex workspace with terraces on either side. The plan also calls for just under 1,000 square feet of outdoor space on the lower level.

The project page on the architect's website says that the building will likely include artist studios and creative offices apart from the restaurant and parking. The total project spans about 15,000 square feet.
