The 40,000 square foot space on the ground floor will also include an office and a service center

Tesla Motors' very first showroom in Brooklyn will open in Red Hook, The Real Deal reports (h/t Brownstoner). The electric car company has signed a lease at 160 Van Brunt Street, a former warehouse that's being converted into offices by real estate developer, LIVWRK.

Tesla has acquired space on the ground floor, which will span about 40,000 square feet. Apart from the showroom, the car company will also have an office and service center at the location.

LIVWRK acquired the site, which was formerly the Golten Marine Terminal, in 2014 for $21.5 million, and is hoping to get startups and tech companies to lease the space.

Tesla currently has a showroom in Chelsea, but the lease for that will expire in July, and it is currently scouting locations in Manhattan as well.
