New Development Will Bring 130 Apartments to East New York

New, 5 comments

Some vacant land in the New Lots section of East New York is set for a big change. YIMBY reports MacQuesten Development has filed plans for a two-building project that would bring 130 residential units to the stretch of Van Snideren Avenue between Linden Boulevard and Newport Street, right along the L train tracks. The project will be known as Van Snideren Plaza.

Each building would rise seven stories. One would be between New Lots Avenue and Newport Street and hold 102 apartments, each averaging 930 square feet. The other would hold 28 units, each averaging 1,170 square feet. The first would have parking while the second would have retail space. Both are being designed by Harlem-based Gluck+. The area will need to be rezoned before residential development can go forward.
