Tour the In-Progress 1 John Street, Home to Brooklyn's Most Expensive Condo

The Dumbo condo is close to the finish line

Construction is plugging away on 1 John Street in Dumbo, notable for being home to the most expensive condo ever sold in Brooklyn, at a whopping $8.9 million. (Somewhere, the person who bought the $100 million condo at One57 is laughing at that number, while the rest of us weep.) Field Condition recently stopped by the Brooklyn condo, which is a collaboration between Alloy Development and Monadnock Development, to check in on the progress.

Scaffolding is still up, but should be coming down at some point in the near future. Meanwhile, the interiors are getting built out—one of the penthouse units, which comes with a sunken courtyard, can be seen above, and there's a furnished model unit that shows what the pricey apartments could look like once occupied.

One of the building's biggest selling points is its views, and many of its units will have Instagram-worthy vistas of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, as well as the Manhattan skyline. The roof deck, pictured above, also doesn't disappoint. Occupancy is expected sometime this year.
