After it was revealed last December that a developer in the West Village was moving forward with a smaller as-of-right plan to build condos in the neighborhood, an updated rendering has now emerged of the project. 6sqft got its hands on the rendering for the 10-story condo building planned at 111 Leroy Street, which will have 12 apartments.
A previous plan for this project called for a 12-story building with 30 apartments, but that was voted down by the local community board. Plans at that time also called for a smaller building with 13 units of affordable housing for LGBT seniors, and a community center on the same site.
Now all of that seems to be out the door, though 20 percent of new apartments will be affordable, according to 6sqft. The developer behind the project, Property Markets Group (PMG), is also building five townhouses right next to the condo building (this was also part of the original plan).
The townhouses will be located at 115-121 Leroy Street and 621 Greenwich Street. Work is already underway on the project which is being designed by Workshop APD.
