Historic West Village Federal Townhouse Is Now A $20K/Month Rental

Features four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms

Built in 1836, this gorgeous three-story townhouse in the West Village is now on the market as a rental asking $20,000 per month. Featuring 3,600 square feet of space, the house comes with four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. Some of its standout features include high ceilings, pine floor boards, and beautiful moldings throughout the house.

Some of the other positives include the fact that it's pet friendly and comes with a small garden on the ground floor. In fact, the brokerbabble speculates that folk singer Joan Baez was married in this garden.

The townhouse is also being offered on sale for $6.95 million, though according to StreetEasy it has been on the market for 170 days, so it seems like the owner is trying the rental route as well. The sales price has come down from when it first went on the market in October last year for $8.8 million.

It's located within the Greenwich Village Historic District [PDF!] on Bedford Street between Leroy and Carmine Streets.
