Tour The Frick's Off-Limits Second Floor With This 360 Degree Tour

The second floor will eventually open to the public as part of the museum's expansion

Now that the Frick Collection is in the process of choosing an architecture firm for its planned expansion, the museum has uploaded a 360 degree virtual tour of parts of the second floor leading up from the Grand Staircase. DNAinfo first reported on it, and the tour gives a glimpse of the currently restricted area that the Museum intends to open as part of its expansion.

Some of the other highlights of the expansion, apart from the opening of the second floor (which currently houses the museum's administrative offices) include adding a new gallery for special exhibitions, ramping up the gallery's educational and public programming, and improving the existing visitor amenities.

Details for the plan will be decided with the chosen firm and are likely to be unveiled sometime early next year.
