Private social club Soho House is getting ready to land on the Lower East Side. Renovations have been ongoing at the former funeral home at 139 Ludlow Street, which will open as Ludlow House in the spring after a failed attempt by the Friends of the Lower East Side to landmark the 143-year-old structure. The Low Down noticed that there are new interior renderings for the club on its website that show off the club's unsurprisingly hip and eclectic lounge spaces.
Curious about what will be going on in the members-only space? Here's how the club's website explains its MO: "Unlike other members’ clubs, which often focus on wealth and status, we aim to assemble communities of members that have something in common: namely, a creative soul." For access to the space, creative souls have to fill out an application that includes attaching a headshot and referencing two other club members. Membership starts at $1,000 for those under 27 only looking to access Ludlow House, rather than the company's larger network including Soho House. The membership fees go up from there.
