Tishman Speyer has announced plans to bring another large office building to Hudson Yards, just over a month after it announced plans for the Bjarke Ingels-designed The Spiral, also in the neighborhood.
The development firm has purchased two properties located side by side at 434-444 Eleventh Avenue and 550 West 37th Street.
Tishman Speyer plans to create a 1.3 million square foot office tower at the location along with ground floor retail.
"New York City’s position as a global business center is as strong as ever, and Hudson Yards is rapidly emerging as one of its main engines for further economic growth," said Rob Speyer, the CEO of Tishman Speyer said in a press release. "As evidenced by our commitment to develop more than four million square feet of premium commercial space in the area, we are convinced that Manhattan’s far west side is well on its way to becoming the world’s most modern, dynamic and sustainable urban neighborhood."
The Bjarke Ingels-designed office building nearby will span 2.85 million square feet and rise to 1,005 feet.
Tishman did not disclose the price of the recent purchases.
