Checking In on 520 West 28th, Zaha Hadid’s Only NYC Project

The 11-story Chelsea building features a total of 40 condos

Tributes are still pouring in after the sudden passing of visionary architect Zaha Hadid yesterday. She is perhaps best known for her work outside of the United States such as the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, Azerbaijan and the London Aquatics Center, but in New York her legacy will live on through the as yet unfinished High Line-adjacent condo building at 520 West 28th Street.

Photographer Field Condition stopped by the construction site and snapped images of the 11-story building, which has now topped out. Installation of the glass curtain wall is currently underway, and the Related Companies-developed building will have a total of 40 apartments when its complete.
