The Bronx has undergone a massive transformation in the past century, going from vast farmland to a symbol of urban blight (and renewal), all in little more than 120 years. While evidence of that metamorphosis can still be found throughout the borough, there are few better ways to see how things have changed than by looking at old photos. Here, we've collected more than 20 that show The Bronx through the past ten or so decades, from when it was a rural haven to its current revival.
Unless noted, all images are from the Museum of the City of New York's Digital Collection.
