Summary

This story starts and ends in New Jersey. Craig had been a volunteer firefighter since graduating from high school, but wanted to turn pro, and had put his name in with the Jersey City Fire Department. If selected, that would mean he’d have to continue his residency there, where he had a studio. Then there was Katie, a school counselor who worked with Craig’s mother (and set them up). She had looked at Hoboken, but seeing what they saw in Jersey City, she liked it even better. They tried to find a one-bedroom in a brownstone with laundry. He had a dishwasher and laundry in his studio, but they had no luck. Eventually, they found their way to a one-bedroom on a low floor at the Morgan, located in the Powerhouse Art s District. They don’t have a view, but they have good lighting and a stacked washer/dryer. They have friends over, and there isn’t too much noise. Craig is now a probationary firefighter in JC.
