Queens's second tallest residential building, located at 42-12 28th Street in Long Island City, has now topped out, the Court Square Blog reports (h/t YIMBY). The Heatherwood Communities-developed building currently stands at 647 feet above street level, according to YIMBY, which for now makes it the tallest residential building in the borough.
Known as Tower 28, the Goldstein, Hill & West Architects designed-project includes 477 apartments spread out over 58 floors. Amenities revealed so far include a swimming pool on the third floor, roof terraces on the 45th and 58th floors, and a gym. Plans also call for retail on the ground floor.
Construction work is expected to wrap up sometime next year. The borough's tallest, planned building at the moment is an 800-foot building, also in Long Island City.
