In the 1960s during the heyday of her career, photographer Diane Arbus lived in a quiet carriage house in the West Village. Hidden behind the townhouse at 131 Charles Street, both houses hit the market last May for $13.5 million. The seller is Judith Stonehill, an active Greenwich Village historian and preservationist, who has lived in the home for nearly 50 years and has, unsurprisingly, been a loving steward of the landmarked property. The houses reappeared on the market this afternoon priced to sell, as the listing puts it, for $12.5 million.
