Notorious B.I.G. Memorial Could Be Coming to Clinton Hill

The late Brooklyn-born rapper may get a sculpture right in his neighborhood

The late legendary rapper Biggie Smalls (a.k.a. the Notorious B.I.G., Big Poppa, and Christopher Wallace) could soon be memorialized with a huge six-foot tall bronze sculpture that depicts his visage at Clinton Hill’s Putnam Triangle. The proposed location is just around the corner from where he grew up; Biggie is considered "the most notable person in the neighborhood," states the sculpture's designer, Brooklynite Tanda Francis.

The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is seeking to raise $35,000 to mount the Biggie Memorial Project as well as donate $10,000 of those funds to the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation, according to DNAInfo.

While the project hasn’t been presented to city officials yet, Francis believes that the sculpture would attract fans from around the world and help give local businesses a boost. If approved, the installation would likely remain at Putnam Triangle for less than a year.

Just a few days ago, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams recently declared May 21st, Biggie’s birthday, as ‘Christopher ‘The Notorious B.I.G." Wallace Day.’
