Gawker Founder Nick Denton Lists Soho Apartment As $15,000 Rental

Sources say it's part of the embattled media exec's "downsizing strategy"

Gawker Media head honcho Nick Denton has seen better days. In the wake of a $140 million verdict against the notorious gossip website in a suit brought by Hulk Hogan, and a particularly damning post outing a Condé Nast exec that resulted in the brand's "20 percent nicer" editorial and a series of staff buyouts, Denton has listed his Soho apartment for rent. Sources of the Post say Denton's move is part of a "downsizing strategy" in the midst of Gawker's legal and editorial fallout.

Denton purchased the apartment at Spring and Crosby streets for $1.87 million in 2004. He's now offering the 2,556-square-foot 2BR/2BA pad as a $15,000 per month rental that can be delivered furnished or unfurnished.
