The 1980s icon wants out of her East 10th Street pied-a-terre

The red-haired beacon of 1980s adolescence, Molly Ringwald, is all grown up and looking to sell her Greenwich Village pied-a-terre. A listing for Ringwald’s East 10th Street apartment hit the market this morning, boasting its celebrity owner and careful renovation. Ringwald’s owned the apartment since at least 2004, the Observer says, and these days uses it more for the occasional visit from Santa Monica, where she lives with her family.

The apartment is a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half bathroom duplex with two wood-burning fireplaces and views onto one of the loveliest stretches of East 10th Street in the St. Marks Historic District, near Renwick Triangle. The townhouse that the duplex co-op sits on top of was built in 1861 and reflects its age through a few historic details like the apartment’s decorative marble mantles and 10-inch wood beam ceiling. The duplex is asking $1.795 million.
