Demi Moore Chops Price of Fabled San Remo Penthouse By $16M

The actress had been looking to sell the apartment for $75 million

After over two years of looking for a buyer for her palatial $75 million triplex at the San Remo, actress Demi Moore has finally wised up and slashed the price of the storied penthouse. The Real Deal says that Moore has lowered the price of her 17-room penthouse on Central Park West from $75 million to $59 million.

If the apartment sells for $59 million it would more than double the record for the San Remo’s priciest sale, set at $26.4 million. As of now, Moore is paying upwards of $20,000 per month on maintenance fees for the penthouse and another ground-floor two-bedroom that's included in the sale. When asked why she wanted to sell, she told the Times last year that the apartment is "too magnificent not to be lived in full time."

Moore and ex-husband Bruce Willis picked up the 7,000 square foot penthouse in 1990 from Saturday Night Fever producer Robert Stigwood. Former occupants of the celeb-studded building also include Donna Karan, Steven Spielberg, Glenn Close, Tiger Woods, Diane Keaton, the late Steve Jobs, and Dustin Hoffman.
