Jersey City May Be Getting a WeLive Courtesy of Jared Kushner

The co-living brand is discussing the possibility with Kushner Companies

Jersey City’s 57-story tower, One Journal Square, could soon become home to a 101,000 square-foot co-living location, reports the Real Deal. Though the site isn’t set for completion until 2018, owners Kushner Companies and KABR Group are considering transforming a portion of the projected $400 million tower into WeLive’s third location in the U.S.

While parent brand WeWork has ten shared offices throughout the country, its co-living brand, launched in April, has just two — one in Manhattan’s Financial District and another in Washington D.C. In New York, prices for a private bedroom start at $1,700 per month with common kitchen and laundry areas. With WeLive you have the flexibility of living on a month-to-month basis or even shorter periods of time if you so choose. Apartments come fully furnished and the best part, no broker’s fee or 40-times the rent requirement.

WeWork received a $59 million award from New Jersey Economic Development Authority back in November for their Jersey City project, which would create 723 full-time jobs.
