The former penthouse to pop star Britney Spears is back on the market one more time.
The "Toxic" singer purchased the 4,400-square-foot apartment at 14 East 4th Street (aka the Silk Building) circa 2002 for $3 million before selling it in 2006 at a $1 million profit. With the apartment's failure to sell of late, it seems like some of those toxic vibes may have been left behind. The home has been struggling to find a long-time owner since Britney left it behind.
It's been listed several times with prices ranging anywhere from $5 million to an astounding $9 million since. Most recently it hit the market in January asking $7.6 million. After a brief hiatus, the three bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom penthouse is now trying its luck as a rental unit, asking $24,000 a month, reports the Observer.
The home is quite nice, featuring large living and dining rooms, a wood-burning fireplace, mud room, and a sprawling outdoor space that offers views of downtown Manhattan. Hopefully, the home will find its rightful owner in due time.
[Update 6/28/16: The penthouse hit the sales market again, this time asking $6.95 million.]
