New, 4 comments

The country's largest Fourth of July fireworks spectacle will happen over the East River

For the third straight year, the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks will return to the East River, lighting up the sky for those in western Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan’s east side to see. This year marks the 40th year for the annual holiday show which will be launched from four barges in Midtown and below Brooklyn Bridge near South Street Seaport, with the headquarters for the event being located in Hunters Point South Park.

The display, which lasts 25 minutes will begin at 9:25 p.m. and will feature more than 52,000 shells. Be sure to get there early if you want a good view; the city is expecting 3 million people to watch the event.
