Just a month after it was revealed that the rentals at the SOM-designed tower on 57th Street would start from $3,200 per month, developers World Wide Group and Rose Associates have launched leasing on the building’s 169 apartments.
The building, which is known as Aalto57, features a mix of studios-three bedrooms. When we last reported on the project, we were only aware of the starting price, but now it appears that apartments will rent for $17,000 per month at the upper end of the spectrum.
Of the units currently listed on streeteasy, which come with several new renderings, prices range from just over $4,000 and go up to just over $14,000 per month. Some of the highlights of the apartments include nine-foot tall ceilings, movable island work stations in the kitchen, and a washer and dryer in each unit.
"No other luxury building offers what Aalto57 currently does: sophisticated layouts, superior finishes, and one of the only opportunities to rent in a new building located on the city’s most sought-after boulevard in the elegant Sutton Place neighborhood," Jim Stanton of the World Wide Group, said in a statement. "With Rose Associates, we have reimagined what it means to live in a rental building, from the graceful curves of the exterior to the sophisticated layouts of the interior, this is a building that our residents will be proud to call home."
Amenities in the building include a basketball court, a bike room with a DIY tune-up station, a residents lounge, a fitness center, and a landscaped terrace designed by Mathews Nielson Landscape Architects.
The rentals occupy 21 floors in SOM’s 65-story building. The upper section of the building is being marketed as condos, and goes by a separate address. While the rentals are listed at 1065 Second Avenue. The tower’s 93 condos are listed at 252 East 57th Street.
