It’s been just over three years since Hudson announced its plans for a 23-story Prospect-Lefferts Gardens rental tower. Heralded as a game-changer since the start, the 254-apartment building finally unveiled its rentals on Friday along with its long-anticipated launch on the rental market (h/t BBH). Five apartments are on the market now, including a $1,939 studio and reaching up to a $4,431 three-bedroom, one-bath. All apartments up for grabs are being offered no fee right now.
Marvel Architects, the same firm behind Pierhouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park, designed the building on the former site of a parking lot and medical offices. The tower’s rise has caused much ire in the low-lying Prospect-Lefferts Gardens community. Like many a NIMBY lawsuit before (and after) it, a group of PLG residents sued the developer and the New York Housing Agency over the supposed lack of a proper environmental impact study. A judge halted the building’s construction in June 2014 amid community concerns, only to peel back the restraining order twenty days later allowing construction to continue.
The building, dubbed The Parkline, is LEED Gold certified, with apartments featuring oak hardwood floors, stainless steel GE appliances, Bosch washers and dryers, and in-unit climate control. Building amenities include an attended lobby, parking, bike and stroller storage, a gym, pet-grooming room, playroom, viewing room, and a penthouse entertaining space with a chef’s kitchen, party room, and terrace. Along with the listings comes the building's first batch of interior photos and floorplans.
