See how construction is progressing on two buildings that are part of the expansion

Construction work is moving along swiftly on two buildings that are part of NYU Langone Medical Center’s massive expansion in Kips Bay, YIMBY reports based on construction photos acquired from Tectonic. Located right next to its flagship Tisch Hospital, the Helen L. and Martin S. Kimmel Pavilion has reached its full height of 21-stories, according to YIMBY. When complete, the 830,000-square-foot structure will complement Tisch by providing more state of the art patient care facilities.

South of the Pavilion, which is located at 424 East 34th Street, facade work is making progress on the Medical Center’s Science Building at 435 East 30th Street. The 16-story building topped out this past February, and construction photos reveal that a large amount of the facade work has already been completed. Located at the southernmost end of their main campus, the Science Building will serve as a facility for advanced biomedical research, and will work as a space for students, faculty, and clinicians to collaborate.

Both buildings have been designed Ennead Architects. They’re part of a multiple building expansion being undertaken by NYU Langone. The Science Building will likely be complete next year, followed by the Pavilion in 2018.
