Nine-Story Apartment Building Will Rise Near Harlem’s St. Nicholas Park

New, 1 comment

The building features 17 apartments, and 2,300 square feet of ground floor retail

A slim, vacant lot across from St. Nicholas Park in Harlem will soon be transformed into a nine-story apartment building, YIMBY reports. Based on the fact that the buyer of the land, Rafael Santandreu, paid the city just $1 to purchase the lot last year, it’s possible that this will be an affordable housing development.

Plans were recently filed for the apartment building, and once complete it will house 17 apartments each averaging about 850 square, which considering the size of this 2,400 square foot lot isn’t bad at all. Harlem-based firm AQC Architect will design the building, and plans also call for 2,300 square feet of retail on the ground floor, and bike storage at the cellar level.
